Introduction

In the modern world with the changing environment, where the business marketplace is global, communication becomes essential. Business communication is often different from other types of communication since the purpose of business is profit. Thus the development of good communication channels and communication techniques can be essential to a profit organization . This means a process of creating:

* Structure, that divides work tasks, creates business goals and establishes authority levels.

* Work relationships; internal between organization’s members and external with customers and vendors.

* Shared understanding; awareness of organization’s mission and employee performance at work.

* In business communication, message is conveyed through various channels of communication including internet, print (publications), radio, television, outdoor billboards, and word of mouth.

For our research and analysis of communication practices and their efficiency or inefficiency, we choose a well known global company Actavis. Our findings are listed in this memo.

The memo starts with a brief overview of the profile of the organization, outlining its history and development from its foundation to the present. Then it describes the structure of the organization, its leadership and organizational strategy. Next, it covers what the organization’s values are. Relationship between Actavis and its stakeholders, environmental responsibilities and responsibilities to the local community are also explained. Then we describe and analyze the internal and external communication practices. Finally, we close the memo with our recommendation, which is based on our analysis. Prior to presentation in class the memo was presented to Actavis Communication Department in Reykjavik.
