2. What are the main processes included in project quality management?

The main processes, in project quality management process group are: Development of the project management Quality Plan, which happens when planning for the project. The quality plan maybe embedded in the master project management plan. It also determines which quality standards are necessary and provides guidance to stake-holders on how quality management will be performed on the project. Quality Assurance, which happens when the project is being executed. Quality reviews are a key tool for quality assurance but could also be used for quality control. The way they will be conducted will be set out in the Quality Plan. Quality Control, which happens during the monitoring and controlling stage of the project. Quality control consists of inspection, testing and quality measurement verifies that the projects deliverables conform to specification, is fit for purpose and meet stakeholder’s expectations. Quality control techniques are varied and the technique used should be driven by the nature of the project. Quality Improvement may include opportunities to improve management processes during the life of the project or information that assists the management of future projects.

Since most people confuse quality assurance and quality control, I will explain the difference between the two: quality assurance is about preventing "impurities" in the project by using the quality management plan, while quality control is about inspecting for any impurities in the project. There are many different quality assurance and control programs used to improve organizational processes, programs and production. I have studied Six Sigma and the Baldridge system as well as ISO 9000. These types of programs can be used in any situation to enhance and improve any deficiencies.
