1 INTRODUCTION
The media and its regulations are looked at more specifically the internal regulations, as well as media managements and markets, where we define the iPod’s life cycle as well as media representation.
2 MEDIA POLICY AND REGULATION
2.1 Defining internal media regulation
Internal media regulation can be defined by first looking at what is external media regulation. External media regulation as defined by Fourie (2008:73-74) as “enforced by the use of laws and censorship”, it is mainly influenced by statutory organizations while internal media regulation refers to how the medium itself and non-statutory organisations help to organise the functioning and performance of the media. Within in a structure of a medium, an organization will define the regulations that apply to a medium, for example the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCCSA) “play an important role in fighting for the freedom of the press” Fourie (2008:74) as they regulate broadcasting.
