What Drives Organization Change?

Most people do not truly realize the key factors of an organization and what all the company consist of. Due to unforeseen reasons, the economical crisis has been set forth and caused many companies to fail and have a tremendous revenue loss. Many companies have been forced to close their doors forever and left to wonder where to start next. Organization change is everyone’s responsibility; however, this change primarily applies to everyone working within the company. They are especially responsible for creating, maintaining, etc. the company’s image. The purpose of this change is to provide governance for the main reasons why organizations change are discussed and factored. Change is also to ensure adequate security and maintenance of the company.

Environmental Pressures

Environmental pressures for change in some instances. Depending on which city the company resides can sometimes pose an issue. According to the text, in extreme circumstances, organizational change is designed to turn around negative cash flow and avoid bankruptcy (Palmer, Dunford, and Akin (2009). For example when Hurricane Katrina hit the state of Louisiana, there was a huge impact of many different businesses in New Orleans. Water damage whaled the streets compromising people lives and homes as well as corporations. Also this type of pressure was forced upon with mandatory evacuations that were deemed unlivable. It is crucial that environmental changes are adequately protected against weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Timely information about vulnerability changes should be used by the company and must be obtained utilizing various monitoring/alerting methods. The organization's exposure to such vulnerabilities must be evaluated based upon multiple criteria including impact and likelihood of occurrences.
