EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

ABC, Inc. is a start-up lawn mowing service, being established in January of 2010. The company will be located in Palatine, IL and will service residential properties in Chicago’s northwest suburbs. The company will operate out of the owner’s residence and rented garage space. Renting space will allow for lower start-up costs, future expansion, and the ability to relocate if necessary.

ABC, LLC. will be financed by taking out loans on vehicles and equipment and an initial investment by Michael Geary of $10,000. Cash Flow projections support the assumption that the company will have sufficient funds to hire employees and pay off the loans on vehicles and equipment ahead of schedule.

Management: ABC, Inc. will be managed by Michael Geary. He has six prior years of experience in the landscaping business. Previously he managed 20 residential mowing accounts and worked for Crooked Stick Golf Course. In 2007, Michael earned a degree from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with the concentration of Entrepreneurship, through the management department. As manager his role will be to identify new business, develop and implement marketing activities, and to negotiate and close on new business.

Projected Market: First year services are to include mowing, trimming, edging, and raking for basic lawn maintenance. Capacity will be available for 60 residences during year one, 80 residences during year two, and 100 residences during year three. The average revenue per residence is $30 per hour. Future markets to enter will include snow removal, mulching, painting, seal coating, and corporate grounds maintenance. Once ABC, Inc. is debt free these options will be considered through cost analysis, availability of equipment, and capability of personnel.

Loan Repayment: The $20,000 in loaned funds will be required for February 1, 2009 to acquire the trailer, truck, and mower before the mowing season. Repayment of the loan can...
