Con, Scams and Swindles

We were introduced to three different types of frauds of which one of them are can be cited as a property crime under Kansas statues. The other two deal more with consumer crimes and misrepresentation which are protected both federal laws and some in the Kansas statues. The first fraud was the T.V Millions scam. Investors were persuaded to invest money with Charles Cole for as packages of goods and merchandise from manufactures and sale the product directly to others from home, one investor Deluca was lead to believe that she was buying Elvis tapes to sale from home, instead she received jewelry knock offs as did many of the other investors. About a million dollars was lost by the investors and Charles Cole left town before arrest.

The second con was Phillip. He would hang out at clubs and other social events and impress women with his bogus credentials of being a successful doctor. He attracted his girlfriends and in this case he ends up becoming this lady's boyfriend/fiancé and ends up getting over 4000 dollars claiming his assets are frozen due to a mix up in tax misunderstanding. He was so persuasive in his act that he actually takes the lady through the hospital he supposedly works and security never questioned him because he was frequently seen at the hospital they thought he worked there. Close in nature to this getting money through people willingly we see telemarketers who promoting prizes and gifts if the person bought a bunch of miscellaneous items in bulk. To further the deception once they have been shut down they open up war rooms which worked to get the same clients and claim that they would go after the telemarketers who got there money in the first place for more money.

The third type was a clear and blatant fraud of the insurance companies by getting money by staging auto accidents. This group would try to get in wrecks by employing tactics like the Scoop and Swoop where they would get a lead car to pass the...
