This chapter presents the purpose and background of the study which includes the discussion of the specific problems, main topic, also stating the perceived solution to the problems, objectives, scope and limitations, significance of the study and presentation of the evidences which proves that the problem really exists. This chapter answers why the study is been done.

1.1 Purposes and Background of the Study

The Philippines, officially known as the Republic of the Philippines, is a sovereign state in Southeast Asia in the Western Pacific Ocean. To its north across the Luzon Strait lies Taiwan. West across the South China Sea sits Vietnam.
