A Non-Segregated World

Could you imagine a world made up of one gender? Sure there are times where it might not actually seem that bad because of some conflict between the two genders. Now take a few seconds to close your eyes and actually picture it. The purposes of schools are supposed to help educate and develop students in to young adults. By having them in a one gender environment at a young age this is what students adapt to, so if this is not how the world works, why should schools? Non-segregated schools teach students about the opposite gender in order to help prepare them for reality, teach students that equality exists in all aspects of life, and the new techniques that are being incorporated to teach students actually costs society a lot more to maintain.

Having students in non-segregated schools will help to prepare them for the real world. Building a relationship with someone takes time. Students learn how to develop relationships through experiences and interactions, which are different from how one learns math or science which is taught and has rules and steps to follow. Being exposed to the opposite gender in school will help students grow in order to be able to build those relationships. By being able to interact with others they develop a better understanding of the opposite gender. Without this understanding it will be very difficult to build a relationship outside of one’s own gender because students will not have the knowledge they need to properly communicate (1). The societal norms are that women and men work hand-in-hand with each other. There are specific gender roles and expectations for each gender that must be fulfilled. Without the cooperation in society of both genders the world would be dysfunctional. Since society needs both genders schools should raise the students to be able to work with both genders (2).
