BIOGRAPHY: Tekyrah Fletcher

Tekyrah Fletcher was born in Kansas City, Kansas (also known as KCK) in 1996. On June, 6th. She was raised Muslim because that’s what her family was. They believe in Ala, which is just another name for God. And they believe in peace.

Tekyrah is the youngest out of her and her other three siblings. She has a fraternal twin sister named Tecorah. Overall, they are pretty close. Her oldest brother’s name is Eriouse and he basically raised her. Her second oldest brother’s name is Arthur. And growing up, they didn’t really get along too well. But, now they do. Since she had it pretty hard growing up, she didn’t really have a lot of love from her family. So, she turned to the streets to seek love and compassion. She got caught up in the gang life and found her own kind of family in that gang. She basically had to get it how she could which means she had to make a living in the streets. She always says “got to get it how you can”. She never had a dad in her life until later in life. She did not meet her dad until she was 13 years old. But even after she met him, he still wasn’t around that often. Her parent’s names were Joy Fletcher, and Darren Marshall. Her mom is Puerto-Rican, and her dad is African-American.

Tekyrah didn’t really have a home school because she was always in and out of JDC (Juvenile Detention Center) for different charges and punishments and she also kept on getting expelled. She often times felt alone and felt like nobody ever understood her. So her home life wasn’t always that stable. She once said “when they look at me, they see passed me.”

She has been through quite a few tragedies and traumas. When she was younger, she was raped by one of her family members. Though it is unknown by most who did it. And that could be a good or bad thing being unknown. It could go both ways.
