1. Introduction

Over the past eight weeks the D.A.R.E officer has taught my class a number of things about drugs, alcohol, and getting out of risky situations. In my research I have found that D.A.R.E has been around for years. My parents have explained to me that when they were growing up and going to elementary school they would too have a D.A.R.E officer that would come to their school and classroom and explain to them why they should not use drugs and alcohol. My parents told me that they were glad that the D.A.R.E officer explained to them the horrible affects that drugs and alcohol could have on their body. Within this essay we will discuss the affects that marijuana, tobacco, and alcohol can have on your body. We will also speak about how a person can get out of a risky situation.
