1.1 About WWF

WWF stands for ‘World Wide Fund for Nature’; one of the world’s leading conservation organizations. The WWF operates in over 100 countries, with around 1300 different projects at any given time. The fund is an independent organization financed by donators. Almost 5 million people globally; 1,2 million in US only and 1 million in the Netherlands. The current secretariat of the WWF International is located in Gland, Swiss, and it operates under Swiss law.

‘Build a future in which people live in harmony with nature’.

The line mentioned above represents the vision of the WWF. The WWF strives to a future where people and nature can live in harmony, in the best interest of nature. And the people living on this planet who need nature to survive.

The Mission of the WWF is to ‘Conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the biodiversity on Earth’.

WWF is doing this by 5 main goals:

* Protect threatened species and their environments

* Help local communities to strengthen their abilities to conserve their natural resources

* Change markets and policies to reduce the impact of the consumption and production of natural resources

* The value of nature has to be reflected in decisions and actions made by individuals, communities, governments and business

* Mobilize as much people as possible to support conservation of the environment

Since the founding in 1961, WWF supported over 13,000 projects. Currently there are around 1300 active projects led by the WWF to help the environment; from the Amazon to Arctic.

1.2 Problem

One of the main goals of the WWF, is to reach as much people as possible to help or donate to the fund. At this moment, the group of 18-25 years old seems not to be very interested in the WWF. Why is this? And how can the WWF make them enthusiastic about the fund so this group will...
