Unifying Political Parties in the United States

The United States has for a long time been dominated by two major parties; Republicans is one dominating political party that became a nationalized party when they nominated John C. Fremont for President in 1856. They became a major political party after the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860 (Republican National Committee, 2012-2013). Democrats are the other dominating and major political party, as well as one of the oldest political parties in the world; “It traces its roots to 1792, when followers of Thomas Jefferson adopted the name Republican to emphasize their antimonarchical views” (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2012. para. 2). These two parties are based on different ideologies that have created differences among the leaders and citizens of the United States. Currently, the United States is in a Deficit and the recovery of the economy is one of the major elements that need focusing on, in order to create a good prosperity environment for all Americans. This country is fresh from an election and therefore tensions between parties are high but this should be set aside for the welfare of the citizens of the country. The interests of an individual leader should always be set aside first, to focus on the major problems especially the economy as experienced in this country now. The leaders of both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party should work together for the benefit of this beautiful country. To make the United States of America stronger than ever, the best values of Democrats and Republicans need to be implemented by one non-partisan party.

One of the reasons why political parties exist are because of the valuing beliefs that they believe is good for a whole set or group of people. The Republican and Democratic parties have morally high values but unfortunately contradictions exist at times. One of the best values...
