Virtual Financial Analysts

Virtual environments work well for some organizations if an organization has lots of people who constantly travel and/or work from home on a consistent basis when not traveling. Virtual environments should also be an option in multinational organization with a large IT group that functions and interacts on a level requiring them to be accessible to all branches of the multinational organizations employees all over the world; the IT group, may be allowed to work from home full time. Having a virtual team, in some instances, could go from an option to a necessity if it is seen as a potential cost savings and/or an option which would result in an increase in office space for people who truly need to be in office to perform the task required for their job.

No matter what the reasoning, there are things to consider when establishing a virtual environment as part of an organization;

* Tools required for a virtual environment

* How to manage this type of environment

* What positions should be considered for this virtual environment set up

Considering an organization with international roots, consisting of small groups at each location, but the specialized IT personnel /managers of the other groups report into the headquarters, hires a Functional Analyst to complete the task of researching and presenting a brief proposal for a virtual environment for the lead IT personnel.

The Functional Analyst having the skills and mindset to understand the business goals must consider those and any potential management issues and management skills required to manager this type of environment.

The Functional Analyst would consider the basic tools required for an IT employee to work from home and still have access the organizations, servers, software, intranet, email, etc… The system set up must be secure and would require the use of a VPN to ensure the laptop and/or other wireless devices the IT team...
