Gender and Family

The juvenile delinquency still continues to grow in America, analysis and researches show that family and gender can have a large impact on the juvenile delinquency. There are many differences that takes place while the socialization and development in the female and males, in which this can cause different juvenile offending patterns. Some changes in the family structure can also cause some type of implications on socialization for both female and males. The juvenile delinquency is based on their gender. It depends on the gender of the juvenile in what type of values where instilled within the juvenile.

Males usually learn to value their independence where the females are taught, in which this depends on their ability to sustain a relationship. Males usually run the risk of losing themselves unlike the females in their relationship, because they think it is their main purpose to sustain a relationship. Female are more likely to become a target for physical or even sexual abuse, because of their values that have been instilled in them. The differences between the females and males all begins in their childhood. It can be said the males make up the vast majority of the prison population. It can also be said that men are just plain different than women when it comes to ethics, morals, and violence. Whether gender has any influence on whether or not a crime is committed is not fully understood, but there are many theories.

Many crimes are linked to sexual abuse to women in today’s world and are committed by men. Women are taught that they are less aggressive and they usually blame themselves for what happened to them. And that they put themselves in that type of situation. Rather than what men are like, they are more likely to be more aggressive and they learn to let their anger out rather than keep it inside all bottled up.
