ABSTRACT

This investigation seeks to determine the level to which water resource management

implementation has been carried out . An ecosystem based approach will be necessary to ensure that this fragile ecosystem , the chania river is conserved. Consequently integrated water resourses management is necessary. Water resources are managed in a participatory manner where all the stakeholders are involved . Quantitative methods such as numerical data tabulations to determine distribution ,numbers and percentage of quantities and variables are analyzed. For successful water resources management implementation there is a need to ensure adequate capacity building among the members of the community and government support through the creation and maintenance of an enabling environment. Therefore the study seeks to help in the identification of opportunities , challenges and recommendations that would facilitate the successful implementation of the conception our country at national and local levels.
