Introduction
Irene Seagraves is the CEO of S&F Online. Driven by industry forecasts, a growth strategy is needed for the next three years. To market the new idea of S&F Online, the company must move fast to implement a plan. A logistics team, a web development team, and a marketing manager have been put in place. The CEO would like the operations streamlined, to increase the reach of the online sales channel, and make S&F more profitable. In order to achieve these goals, this paper will discuss the methods of control and current culture, a recommendation for restructuring, and explain how size and new structure affects the organization
Methods of Control and Current Culture
The logistics team that has been put into place will manage order handling, customer support, and delivery operations. The team also reports to the Marketing Manager, who coordinates product lines, marketing budgets, and promotional activities. The project Manager and the Marketing Manager will set the tone, and along with the team, set the culture. When discussing a business or organization, culture is a huge concern for the company. It is an organization's values, beliefs, and behaviors. In general, culture is concerned with beliefs and values on the basis of which people perceive experiences and behave, individually and in teams. Culture is the value of an organization, which provides patterns for how employees should behave. Organizations with strong cultures will achieve higher results because employees sustain focus both on what to do and how to do it. There are several reasons a culture may change, either negatively or positively. Weak leadership with no internal controls will not succeed in S&F Online.
