Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and John Jay. | A document that recognizes the world especially the British that the 13 colonies is an independent nation free from Britain. | Paris | Signed: 10 February 1763 | It was the treaty that concluded the Revolution. The peace recognized American independence, gave it north- eastern fishing rights and attempted to safeguard creditors, protect loyalists and settle the frontier between Canada and the USA. These failures led to 30 years of friction, especially in the NW territory where Britain retained forts in retaliation and led to the War of 1812. |
