Introduction: War of Roses and Henry Tudor’s accession to the throne
War of Roses: last event that marked the end of the feudalism
Feudalism:
Notion of service, loyalty, social organization with lords and vassals. They owe reciprocal services: lords protect the Ppl of the land who’s working the land of his lord. They share their crops (récoltes) or paid cash the lords.
The magma Carta (Supra oraganisation):
There is a king, chosen by the most powerful lords called the magnates.
The supremacy of the lords is sized by how much there is Pple on their land. The more there are, the more they have power and they can create an army.

War of Roses: House of York vs House of Lancaster. (Both had a rose as an emblem) Not a continue war, series of battles several weeks and years. Mostly aristocrats, mercenaries and Ppl. The goal of this war was the power (knowing which house will be on the throne) and the lands.
Edouard IV (Reign: 1461-1483 // House: York) dies in 1483 and his son Edouard V (Life: 1470-1483) succeeded but he was only 12, so his uncle Richard III (Reign: 1485-1485) exerted the authority for him. Richard III killed his nephew, brothers and sisters to usurp the power.
Henry Tudor : Henry VII (Reign: 1485-1509), House: Lancaster. He lived in exile in Brittany and raised an army with French’s help to invade his own country and pick up back the power. Finally, Henry VII killed Richard III in 1465 in the battle of Bosworth. He then gets married with a York.
