That’s my name given to the hard line Republican House Members who have forced the shut down of federal government and now they are after the debt default which would spin the world into recession. The federal government shut down has cost the families of the service members with their death benefits and ending federal support for rape crisis centres.

But the most troubling mess is the way that the extremists downplay the risk of running into the debt limit. Astonishingly a Florida Veterinarian Ted Yoho said that the missing debt ceiling deadline would bring stability to the world market which was later agreed by senator Rand Paul. Even senator Tom Coburn says that it would not be bad enough to face a managed catastrophe.

This lead to a rise of television channels like Fox News starting discussion over the positive and negative points of the situation which makes the catastrophe even more difficult to avoid. A research poll this month found out that majority of Republicans believe that united states can miss the debt limit deadline without major problem.

Two features that strike me the most are the obliviousness of the central players, especially the gang of 40 to the risk ahead and second is the way the politicians seek leverage by threatening deliberate harm to the nation unless their demands are met. The house republican hard liners lost their battle over the Obamacare in the democratic process but instead of accepting their loss they took American economy as hostages and threatened to cause billions of dollar damage to the country.
