Divine Command Theory

Divine Command Theory is a theory claim that morality is base on the command of the god. Divine Command Theory states that some action is morally correct to do so when it is the command of god. This theory is different in every religion, because every religion has different belief about god, but all of it are also same in the claim that morality is depends on the command and require of god.

Divine Command Theory is a theory that against euthanasia. In the majority of the religion believe that life is the gift of god bestowed to human, so, as a human, we should appreciate our life and not to end our life with our own interest. Therefore, Divine Command Theory is disagreeing with euthanasia, because euthanasia did not fit to the concept of Divine Command Theory. Euthanasia end human life with human own interest without the approval of god, which means that human control their own life, this is fully against the concept of Divine Command Theory that emphasize on the command and require of god.

Besides that, euthanasia is consider as wrong in Divine Command Theory because Divine Command Theory claim that morality is depends on the command of god and majority of the religion believe that human life is planned and controlled by god. Most of the religions believe that god planned the whole life of human and control the life time of human. However, euthanasia end a person life without the command of the god before the time for that person the end his life that planned by god. This is not following the command of the god and is consider morally wrong in the society even though euthanasia may let some patients free from suffering from the pain of their critical illness.

Other than that, most of the religions believe that only god have the power to control the human life. A doctor have no right to end a person life by carrying out euthanasia, a patient have no right to end his own life too by requesting his doctor for euthanasia due to his suffer...
