My home town and Chicago

Chicago city is the most popular city in the world for skyscrapers, large buildings, tourism, and entertainment. Besides, my hometown, SaiGon, is also a popular city. It is the largest city in South Vietnam. In the core of the Mekong delta, SaiGon is second the most important in Vietnam after Ha Noi. I realized that the two cities are on opposite coasts and have different weather patterns. It also has differences about climate, history, holiday, food and transportation. When I talk to this part, I am so excited to tell you more about that. Let follow my essay to find out what are the similarities and differences between Chicago and my hometown.

First thing, when we talk about Chicago, we can know that Chicago is largest city in the United States of Illinois and windy city. It is located along the Southwestern shore of fresh water Lake Michigan. With over 9.5 million people, Chicago is the third most popular city in the United States while my hometown is one of the highest country populations in the world. They are also different the weather. In Chicago, we can recognize four seasons: Spring, summer, fall, Winter and in the winter, it is really cold while my hometown has two seasons: Rainy, Sunny and hot in the whole years.

In history of Chicago, it was inhabited by Native American. It was the first trade post, and later it used to for a military post. The history of my hometown relates closely with the struggle for the independence and freedom of Vietnam. Many centuries ago, Saigon was already a busy commercial center. Merchants from China, Japan and many European countries would sail upstream the Saigon River to trade. When I tell about history of my hometown, I cannot forget Cho Lon. Chicago and Saigon have different history and the lifestyle is also different. In Chicago, people have freedom and they want to do whatever they want.
