Effect of Translation

Globalization have succeeded throughout the past decade to eliminate a lot of cultural barriers upon different communities around the world. One of the most important and significant culture differences around the world that have been eliminated is the language barrier. Translation was the tool used for the elimination of this barrier that heavily contributed to facilitate inter-cultural communication through different means. The primary mean was media.

This paper highlights the importance of audiovisual translation of TV shows, series, and movies throughout their various techniques whether through dubbing and subtitling in promoting cultural understanding among nations. Nevertheless, is also target to accentuate the pressing need to develop the remarkable innovations of the 20th century in the fields of information technology, cinema, and satellite TV channels throughout the process of audiovisual translation to fill in the cultural gap between Arabic and English speaking societies and minimize the barriers between those two clashing cultures. Moreover, this paper also tend to emphasize the to improve audiovisual translation between Arabic and English and translate Arab works of cultural shows, series, and movies which reflects the real image of the Arab culture in order to counter and modify the Arab’s image that the Western world and particularly the English speaking societies have about them.

Of course, no one can deny the fact that text translation is considered to be one of the most successful way that people of different cultural backgrounds communicate through, interact by, and coordinate with. However, the amazing innovations of the 20th century in the movie industry and show business and recently the past 2 decades the internet that have stressed on the importance of not only text translation but also audiovisual translation that generally attracts a very large spectators of all types that can be in some cases illiterate.
