Maritime law also called the admiralty law it cover and protect all marine activities on navigable of any states and international waters. It a set of rules use for resolving disputes involving maritime trade, lots of the laws use today are developed in early history. There many type of laws use, there is the contract law which is an agreement between two or more parties. Offer and acceptance, intention to create legal relations and consideration to support the agreement are necessary to form a binding contract. When a valid contract is breached it allow the innocents party to claim against the other party for damages cause to them. Found in 1897 , the CMI was responsible for the drafting of numerous international conventions including the Hague Rules international conventions on bills of lading , the visby amendments amending the Hague Rules , the salvage convention and many others. While the CMI continues to function in an advisory capacity , many of it functions have been taken over by the International Maritime Organization , which was established by the United Nations in 1958 but become truly effective only in the 1970s. A bill of lading serves as a proof provide by a carrier to a shipper of the receipt and delivery of goods. In many cases, the bill of lading also serves as evidence of a contract between the shipper and carrier and proof of title or ownership. Laws that are often modelled after the Uniform Commercial Code govern the shipment of goods and issuance of a bill of lading within a state. The Interstate Commerce Act governs the shipment of goods and issuance of a bill of lading across state lines and internationally, according to the Free Legal Dictionary. Banks which loan money to purchase ships, vendors who supply ships with necessaries like fuel and stores, seamen who are due wages, and many others have a lien against the ship to guarantee payment. To enforce the lien, the ship must be arrested or seized.
