Abstract

Social responsibility is the topic of this research paper. In this research paper we will explain the importance of social responsibility in business, and the effects that is has. Being discussed next will be what has been found in the past few years regarding social responsibility. An interview of the franchise Wendy’s is implemented in to the paper. The interview helps to demonstrate what implementation of social responsibility managers are putting in to action in the work place. There will be a few articles mentioned in the paper to help get across the objectives from the research. The last thing mentioned will be what needs to be researched about social responsibility in the future.

Social Responsibility

According to the source there is many variations of the definition of social responsibility, but they all to the same degree describe the same thing. Social responsibility is when a firm takes the task of being responsible for the actions that they do, good or bad. Social Responsibility is the obligation of an organization’s management towards the welfare and interests of the society in which it operates (What is Social Responsibility, 2008). Social responsibility can contribute to business’s meeting their ethical expectations. Corporate social responsibility is the continuing commitment by business to behave ethnically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large (What is Social Responsibility, 2008).
