Christian Philosophy Paper

This paper will adjust some of the hardest hitting questions a Christian teacher faces. As a Christian educator I will be faced with problems every day in the classroom with students, their parents, my co-workers, and my administrators. Being a Christian, and a person of faith I will rely on God to get me through each situation. I will pray consistently for my class and co-workers and I will go to work with a joyful heart, so that even when I can’t profess His name out loud, I can profess Him through my actions and reactions.

What do you consider to be the role of the education in society/a child’s life/my life? In society: Society has two different role models for schools today… One is the overbearing standards set by state governments forcing schools to cut back on independent, creative thinking and to just go by the book, studying what will be on standardized tests so that the teachers don’t get fired and replaced by even more rigid quota-meeting machines; teaching students to learn one way and one way only, not embracing the differences or children’s unique strengths.

But on the other hand, we have the overly creative people that say that kids should “free their minds” and that there are 854 different ways for a student to learn and that we can never say no to them or make them feel like they’ve ever done anything wrong (whether they actually have or not). Those people think they are encouraging children but they are giving them a lack of foundation to base any type of learning on.

A child’s life: Education plays an important role in a child’s life. It is the only learning a lot of children will get with over 49 million families (in America alone) being under the poverty line parents spend their time working to provide for the family and can’t afford to spend time and money on interactive learning toys/systems/books for the child in early years.
