HSBC Holdings Plc

HSBC is a multinational banking and financial services company in London, United Kingdom, from 2012 being named one of the largest banks. HSBC is a universal bank which itself is organised with four different business groups; Commercial Banking, Investment Banking, Retail Banking and Wealth Management Banking. HSBC Holdings Plc was founded in 1991 in London. The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation were responsible for the finding of HSBC Holdings Plc and to act as a new group holding company. Due to this, today, HSBC remains the largest bank located in Hong Kong and recent expansion in mainland China, where it is now the largest international bank.

Like every other bank HSBC has an approach and a goal to keep their customers satisfied and keep their expectations high. For HSBC the term ‘sustainability’ is about running the business for the long term, so their customers can always depend on them. It is about investing in customer relationships, ensuring that their governance is robust. This approach itself allows the bank to contribute to socio-economic development and environmental protection in various ways. This approach has motivated me greatly in terms of applying for an internship with HSBC as through their day-to-day business activities, they support individuals and organisations in achieving their financial goals. For me, a business which cares for their customers is a business worth trusting, investing and working for. HSBC provides employment for near enough 300,000 colleagues, paying taxes in the countries they are operating for and investing directly in communities via educational and environmental programmes.

HSBC believe that offering work experience for individuals whom are at university is a great way to increase employment prospects, therefore, gaining work experience/internship with HSBC is an opening path for students and their future careers.
