Deity

“A deity is a supernatural being, like a god or goddess, which is worshipped by people who believe it controls or exerts force over some aspect of the world. The word deity means "divine nature." It was coined by Saint Augustine, a theologian whose writings were very influential in the shaping of Western Christianity. Deity comes from the Latin word for "god": deus. The divine nature of deities is believed to be immortal goodness and powerfulness.” Each religion has its own God they believe in. In Christianity there is one God, the father, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. In Islam, there is only one God, the creator and the sustainer called Allah. Judaism has only one deity as the creator of heaven. Their God has many titles which include Yeshua, Messiah and Hashem which is commonly used. In Hinduism, you can find many Gods and Goddesses but are all part of the ultimate truth.

In Christianity, according to the Holy Bible “the book that the religion of Christianity revolves around, there is a single deity. That deity is the Almighty God, or Jehovah. Though God is but one being, there are actually three forms or beings that are a part of the same God. They are God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.” These three forms are also known as Trinity. This is a difficult concept to understand for most people but, to make it easier the concept is that God is one in three persons. The Father which is the God of earth and Heaven has never been seen by the human eyes, but all Christians believe he lives. He is the omnipresent source of all being, revealed Himself in and by the Son, and is experienced in and by the Holy Spirit. The Son continues from the Father, and also the Spirit from the Son.
