The U.S. government should pay the bulk of cost of education

Imagine having completed your degree after 4 years of hard work; imagine your parents are smiling and taking pictures of your graduation; imagine the moment of throwing the trencher cap into the sky with your friends for celebration. I think the U.S government has the responsibility to cover large percent of cost in public education, because there are 1,670 public institutions in the United States and those institutions were established under government expense from taxpayers.

WSU is one of public founded schools in U.S., which means the state government established this institution and the funds of scholarship budget direct from state as well. I am an international student, and the tuition fee for our international students is very expensive; but WSU provides $2,000 scholarship for international students who have GPA over 3.4. I am one of students getting this scholarship to complete my college education. This scholarship is really helping me and other international students to reduce the financial pressure in such a bad economic conditions. As the economic crisis and inflation, the rising prices and the unemployment rate is also increasing. So lots of families faced the serious financial problem in their life, especially for their children’s tuition fee. In WSU the tuition fee is increasing about 7 percent each year in nearly two years. Many American students organized demonstration to protest the tuition increases. So it is easy to see the higher education fee had already became a big problem to many students. This is why I will talk specifically about how the government pays most of the tuition could reduce every single family’s financial problem first, then the benefits for students if the government pays most of their tuition, finally, the merits for the government itself if they pay bulk of educational costs in my paper.
