Globalisation if it is for the good or evil has been in debate since it started and still on going as the world keeps changing. Basically, globalisation is described as a process of becoming more international in scope, influence or application where networks connect countries, institutions and people in an interdependent global economy). In the new era of globalisation, would include strong understanding of international business strategy and its politics, most importantly the culture of different nations (Jack Wood et al. 2013.

In view of globalisation, the “Western” and local have different perspective whether it is for or against globalistion. One major advantage of globalisation for both the western and local is the increasing growth of the nation’s economy where the multinational corporations (MNCs) enter into the country, creating new martket and also to set up their factory in the country. This relates to the rationale of most globalised MNCs interest of developing country which allows them to gain excess to cheaper resouces such as labour and raw materials which eventually leading to reduction of cost and increase in profit (Giddens 2002). The locals viewed the hiring of cheaper labour as job creation which increases their survival, allowing them to break out of poverty (Kiggundu 2002) even with low income where the “Western” view as exploiting of cheap labours. Further, the increase of globalisation shows an increase in the World’s GDP (Tisdell & Kumar 2004) which also means that local government can take advantage of it and use the revenue generated to build better infrastructure such as school, thus improving the standard of living in developing countries (Burki 2000).

Globalisation is also said to create inequality issue for the poor in developing country but in the case of Vietnam, it shows little change in inequality. When MNCs started investement in the nation, it had a large increase in per capita income. Also the income of the poor has risen and...
