ABSTRACT
Online game addiction has a negative image and is becoming a public concern in Philippines. We look at this phenomenon from another perspective, through interviews with gamers who were addicted to online games. As computer and Internet use become a staple of everyday life, the potential for overuse is introduced, which may lead to addiction. Research on online games addiction has shown that users can become addicted to it. Addiction to the online games shares some of the negative aspects of substance addiction and has been shown to lead to consequences such as failing school, family and relationships with friends. We then map out the factor that causes addiction to online games and how do players become addicted to some online games in the internet. Some players of online games stated that addiction to online games maybe potential mental health problem to users.
