Executive Summary

Alternative investments are those investments which are made into assets that do not fall under one of the three traditional asset types (Cash, stocks and bonds). Alternative investments usually require high minimum capital. Alternative Investments are favored mainly because their returns have a low correlation with those of standard asset classes.

This project gives a closer look on alternate investments in India. The project looks at the regulations governing these investments, the limitations faced in the current market scenario and the trend in the market i.e. the risk and returns offered by each investment. The report also aims to provide suggestions on how to control these risks and gain perspective on the rapidly changing investment alternatives segment.
