HUMANITIES
Came from the latin word HUMANUS meaning human, cultured, refined.
Has various connotation depending on the political, economic, social, artistic and cultural forces that surround the different historical eras.
Today, humanities refer to a loosely defined group of cultural subject area:

- Visual arts – painting, sculpture, architecture
- Performing arts – music, dance, drama, theater arts
