What are some differences or similarities between working for oneself and working for others? Use reason and details to support your opinion.

There are many ways of working. However, the two most specific types of work are working for oneself and working for others. These two kinds of work show their differences most clearly when being considered in the range of time, the amount of work and productivity.

Time is the first to be discussed. When you start your own business, or working for yourself in another word, you will hold the initiative in many things, time is one of those things. By this, you can be more flexible in work and lead to better result by dividing smartly your time with many different tasks at the same time. In contrast, time is the least flexible thing you can think of when being an employee or working for others. Most companies set rules of working in administrative hours and requiring all employees to present at the office in those times. This means you cannot decide how to use your time yourself, and the stipulated time may not suit you well.

Secondly, the amount of work is also the point that being employer and being employee differs about. When working for yourself, you must be the one that make decisions, not only for yourself but also for your employees as well. This sense of initiative will increase your amount of work as the result. Similarly, an employee’s work just narrows in a task giving by his or her boss.

Last but not least, another different point between these two kinds of work is productivity. You always want to gain most benefit to your business so it is obvious that your productivity will extremely high with an efficient strategy. However, each employee’s productivity depends on many things. The salary, the bonus or even promotion can be one of those things. If one company cannot satisfy their employees’ needs, the productivity can be very low.
