Introduction:

From the beginning of time, development in human civilization through advancement of science and technology has all stemmed from the basic fact of necessity. It is impossible to imagine a world without needs. Necessity goads a man to act and to invent. The history of mankind is the history of his efforts to satisfy his needs. All the discoveries and inventions of science are a proof of man's urge to solve his problems.

Due to the needs of shelter, food, clothes, means of transport, communication and protection from wild animals, the primitive man strove hard and built houses, made fire, prepared clothes and developed modes of transportation, communication and even constructed weapons for protection. With the passage of time man's needs went on increasing and he made inventions in keeping with the level of civilization. Today man has reached close to the pinnacle of civilization and we see all around us a host of mind boggling inventions.

Amongst other essential developments in relative fields, advancement of transportation system has contributed substantially in shaping our modern world. Born out of such advancements, was the invention of cars which not only refined the field of transportation to a whole new level but also created an ever-growing industry of automobiles.
