Switzerland Economy

The economy of Switzerland is one of the world’s most stable economies. Switzerland is a peaceful and modern market economy. Switzerland has low unemployment, a high skilled labor force and a per capita GDP among the highest in the world. Its policy of long term monetary security and political stability has made Switzerland’s a safe place for investors, creating an economy that is increasingly dependent on a steady tide for foreign investment.

Most of Switzerland’s economy benefits from highly developed service sector, led by financial services, and a manufacturing industry that specializes in high technology, knowledge-based production. The country’s economy follows the typical first world model with respect to the economic sectors. Switzerland has 3 main sectors of economic sectors agriculture which is 10 percent, industry which is 40 percent and services which are 50 percent half of it. The agriculture industry is extremely protected by Switzerland. High Tariffs and extensive domestic production, which currently produces about 60 percent of the food consumed in the country. Switzerland has an extensive industrial sector, it’s not very know around the world but have connections with some big companies like Nestle and Sika AG a chemical and construction company. Also Switzerland is one of the leaders in exports of high end watches as well as clocks.

Switzerland’s economy over the past 50 years was not the best. During World War I Switzerland suffered an economic crisis. The energy consumption went down all over the country. In the early 2000s recession with being so closed linked to the economies of Western Europe and the United States. Switzerland was not able to avoid falling down with this other countries. In the year 2003 the economy started blooming more since new rules were in effect

like full employment, social equality, economic growth environmental quality and positive trade balance.
