The Man Who Hypnotized a Nation

“Power resides only where men believe it reside. […] A shadow on the wall, yet shadows can kill. And often times a very small man can cast a very large shadow.” No such case is more prominent than that of Hitler—a man who had the support of thousands, and with that he was able to execute and annihilate millions of individuals in the worst way imaginable. When speaking on Hitler, numerous people, books, and mass media call him a harsh, merciless, hate-filled man. Although that is accurate on many levels, Hitler was a mastermind and one of the significant politicians that ever walked this earth. Hitler assumed leadership of a vulnerable nation in a time of need and grasped the opportunity to seize the world. He used his political skills, and the hardships of the times to grab power and make an attempt at seizing the world.

On April 20, 1889, Hitler was born into the trivial Austrian village of Baraunau Am Inn, to the parents Alois Schicklgruber and Klara Pölzl. Alois' father was unknown, although it was speculated by many historians that he was the son of a prosperous Jew in which his mom had been a cook for, but it was never confirmed. According to Meier, Alois was five years of age when his mother died, and he was directed to live on his step-uncle's farm. Alois however, grew tired of this life and began to work as a shoemaker's apprentice, then later enlisted into the Austrian civil service where he eventually was promoted to senior assistant inspector. After returning back to his step-uncle's farm, his uncle had swayed Alois to assume the last name Heidler—through inconsistency in the record books it became Hitler. In 1885, after he had married twice, and partook in numerous amounts of affairs, he married the pregnant Klara Pölzl, who was the granddaughter of his uncle Heidler.
