Hurricanes

What is a hurricane you may ask? According to Weather Wiz Kidz, a hurricane is a huge storm that can be up to 600 miles across and have strong winds spiraling inward and upward at speeds of 75 to 200 mph. Each hurricane usually lasts for over a week, moving 10-20 miles per hour over the open ocean. Hurricanes gather heat and energy through contact with warm ocean waters. Evaporation from the seawater increases their power. Hurricanes rotate in a counter-clockwise direction around an "eye" in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise direction in the Southern Hemisphere. The center of the storm or "eye" is the calmest part. It has only light winds and fair weather. When they come onto land, the heavy rain, strong winds and large waves can damage buildings, trees and cars.

The best economic system that is best suited for handling a crisis of epic proportions is the local citizens and free marketing. The local citizens is best suited for handling a crisis because these people live or are already in the area so they would be the ones who would respond faster. Local citizens will be able to alert the outside country so they can help. Free marketing is also best suited because it involves a private colonial whom owns most resources and eliminates the government’s main objective by way of expediting and alleviating economic activity. Free marketing would be able to provide the goods that are needed for the survivors.

A socialist system might be one of the best in responding to the needs of people struck by an emergency situation (like the earthquake that occurred in Haiti in January 2010) because they can help a country concentrate efforts and resources on major tasks. One task can be alerting other countries so they can help the people that are in the disaster. Another could be to set a donation site so people can donate money, food, and/or clothes.
