Apply your interpersonal influence through communication process towards attaining your specialized goals? Answer: In order to influence people which are your assigned employees in your organization, several factors should be considered and be in place within your organization. First and foremost the Manager leading the group should have good set of managerial, communicational, interpersonal, organizational, coordination skills and other skills along with sound leadership qualities. Understanding your group’s abilities, skills, technical knowledge and mindset along with organizational abilities should be analyzed before endeavoring on a work or project. Planning is of great importance in any organization. Planning determines the future course of action for the given situation. Planning is the selection and relating of facts and making assumptions regarding the future in the visualization and formalization of proposed activities believed necessary to achieved desired results. It is in planning that the policies, procedures, rules, and budgets are examined and decided, teams selected and the clear roles and responsibilities defined and pre assigned. However the confidence, interactions and the feedbacks of your team has to be considered during planning. Gulf Dredging was recently given (which came up at the last moment) a very tight and important schedule of extra dredging activity of more than four months which was to be done in three months. The area was in shallow waters and in the stormy season. This was a crucial project which had to be completed in time. Failure meant huge losses and delayed schedule for the main project that the company was undertaking. We had a problem. The workers were disgruntled & long hours at sea had taken their toll.
