Workers without Boarders

FOR CRITICAL INQUIRY

1.) Gordon spends very little time addressing the problem in her opening statement to define the problem. The author believes most of her readers are well aware of the issue of illegal immigrants and the issues topics associated with it.

2.) The author’s reason for the proposal that the illegal aliens are working in substandard conditions and being taken advantage of by their employers with lack of benefits and low wages. Gordon makes the assumption that her readers do not know the full impact of the treatment and lack of power the illegal’s have in their situation.

3.) Gordon seems to praise the idea of these illegal’s aliens to form unions to demand better wages and working conditions. This idea might hit a backlash of rage from most of the population and the thoughts of rising produce and meat prices for jobs Americans won’t do. She also praises the Euro model for open boarders but does not state and facts or in-depth info on the subject or talk about the wave after wave of eastern block thugs now running wild in England.

Beware the Manipulation of the Funk

1.) The problem Rose is bring to the forefront is she is telling the readers that she was overtaken and overwhelmed by the swag factor and catchy hooks and beats of modern day hip hop music. She disregarded the real meaning of the lyrics. Rose being a strong black women and a professor of African American studies just bolsters her claims to the highest of levels.

2.) By looking the other way and ignoring the true meaning to the songs and just focusing on the powerful swag factor the fans and foes of the game are just kicking the can down the road. The listeners of this type of music are more concerned with the beat, swagger and hook of a song over wholesome substance.

3.) The Author is stating that the hip hop games has gone over to the dark side and now are so intertwined that the two cannot be separated.
