Purpose Statement
This research paper will look at the Gross Domestic Product as it was presented to the President of the United States covering the years of 1962 through 2010. The data was listed on table B-1 of the President’s report and meets the requirements to use a government report that has at least 4 independent variables which effect one dependent variable and that there is at least 49 rows of data. The report was found on the web site:

GDP was selected for analysis because it is a comprehensive scorecard of the country’s economic health. It represents the total value of the country’s production and consists of purchases of domestically produced goods and services by individuals, businesses, foreigners, and the government.
