Giganet

Giganet would be classified as a successful company by all standards. Giganet is a software company founded in 1994 by David Follet that specializes in improved bandwidth through the network switches niche the company specializes in. Because the industry is ever changing and high competitive, the company founder knew that the management team was going to have to implement a strategy not just for product, but service and management to make the company a success. The company founders were aware that they needed to align themselves with knowledgeable people that know there industry and also know how to manage their teams. Driven leaders, combined with a quality product are the reason that Giganet has been successful and the best way for them to continue to become more successful.

As the co-founder of Apollo Computers, Neil Ferris has industry knowledge and a success of $1 billion. Neil Ferris has 30 years of experience and knowledge and networking to be able to bring success t any startup company in his industry. Ferris helped Giganet to acquire a financially successful deal with Dell that not only utilized there niche product (switches), but also prompted Dell to invest $5 million in Giganet. The investment money that Dell helped provide Giganet with the credentials needed to get other big investors, starting with a $6 million investment from Merrill Lynch. Emulex offered to buy out the company for $300 million. Neil Ferris was integral in brokering the investment deals with these large organizations and also for bringing industry knowledge and innovative business strategy to the organization. Ferris used the Four Es- envisioning, encouraging, enabling and enacting to restructure Giganet and make create a great amount of success for the company.
