DNA Technology
DNA has been around for a very long time now; there even has been DNA back in time when
they didn’t have the right technology to use. Years back it was hard to catch a criminal unless
they admitted to the crime because without the proper equipment to run a person DNA there was
no use. I look at it as The Human Identification system is like gold when there is a piece of
DNA. Now it’s our new age in criminal justice system and DNA is revolutionary. The
improvement in this situation is that people that have been accused of crimes and really didn’t
commit them have been released due to the fact that there DNA did not match. Tire impression,
semen, blood, spit, hair, even shoe impression are what experts are using today to catch
criminals, and DNA helps not only with crimes or to catch criminal it’s also helps in paternity
cases as well.
DNA can be admissible in court if it is not found to be reliable. Admissibility is what I call a
status of DNA when it is presented in court cases and it really isn't so much changing. No matter
how the investigators will handle their information the evidence of DNA is always changing. For
an example with Amanda Knox, The DNA evidence was managed in a wrongful manner and
was un cared for with a long period of time so it was unreliable. So It was like saying a murder
suspect was set free. The imports factor to remember is when entering that courtroom all DNA
must remain reliable because in most cases it really speaks for itself.
