Do you want to be the butt of the joke?

I remember back when I was a young lad without a clue I often got dragged to church on Sunday. Being in Sunday school and with no idea. What was I there for because all I did was disrupt class. Once in church I sat as if I was interested because Mom was going to pop me across the top of my head or threaten to tell daddy and I did not want that cause dad was quite the disciplinarian.

That makes me think about the words of this paricope cause like most of us when things start going south we are talking to God or Jesus not having been prayed up.

1 Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck.

Now this text is indicative of a problem identified that has gotten to a point beyond control but not so far as to not know to call on the One from all help comes. God, we all know, is an on time God. To use His edifice for play is to slander Him to a level for too low for a man that has always sat up high and looked down low.

We fear what we don’t understand and that is the problem with the world today with regard to the Word. We get dressed and show up at the meeting, dinners, and any other theological based, spirit filled, whatever the church may call it in order to be spontaneously transformed from a hell hound to a Sunday Christian.
