On a cat5e cable the color code is on the side of the jack

On a cat6 cable its on the top side, in the middle between the pair separation towers.

2. For the wires how many possible termination color code methods are there?

There are two methods, the T568A method, and the T568B method.

3. How many wires are there in a UTP cable?

There are 4 twisted pairs making up 8 individual wires in a UTP Cable

4. What colors are used on these wires?

The colors used are orange, orange/white, blue, blue/white, green, green/white, and brown, brown/white.

5. The punch down tool used to insert the wires into a jack such as this does what two things to each wire?

The punch down tool secures the wire into the slot and cuts the insulation on the wire

6. What is the most critical part of the termination procedure to ensure low crosstalk on the connection?

The most critical part is to keep the wires twisted as much as possible until reaching the termination point.

7. How is the outer insulation covering each wire cut through during the termination procedure?

On a cat5e cable, the outer insulation is cut when you press the punch down tool all the way down.

On a cat6e cable, press down halfway to secure the wire in place. Next press down all the way to trim the insulation.

8. Which termination color code method is used in this example?

The termination color code scheme used in both videos is the T568B scheme.

9. In which video is the wire separation tower shown?

This is shown in the 2nd video

10. Where are the pin numbers shown on the jack with the wire separation towers?
