The Data Files zip file contains four tables: AR master, inventory master, sales order header archive, and sales order details archive. Use this data along with the provided sales order processing flowchart and descriptions of control activities (see below) to test the effectiveness of the described control activities. You should test each control activity using Access, Excel, and ACL. Furthermore, make sure that your test is 'complete' in that it allows you to actually make a conclusion about the effectiveness of the control activity that you are testing and that it is not merely a data preparation step for conducting the test manually (e.g., it is not sufficient to simply sort a table to then select the highest or lowest values for further investigation). In other words, your data analysis should report all the exceptions (if any) that indicate that the control activity was not effective. To only show exceptions you would typically use criteria in Access, filters in Excel, and if expressions in ACL. You have nothing to turn in for this project, but the skills test will evaluate your ability to perform (slight variations of) these tests.

The four data files are saved as comma delimited files with quotation marks as text qualifiers that need to be imported into Access/Excel/ACL. To import the data into Excel you need to use the import wizard (Data From Text). After importing the data, use the following check figures (sum the entire column in your data and match to these figures) to make sure that your import was correct:
