Business Ethic and Sustainability

Last week, we talked about the topic of sustainability in the class. The issue of sustainability has been gaining more and more attention in nowadays that required us to meet the present generation’s needs but not compromising on the future generations’s benefit. The sustainability can be considered as several aspects in terms of social, environment, and economic. Furthermore, how to balance the relationship among environment sustainability,social sustainability, and economic sustainability has emerged wide attention in recently year.

There are several opinions in terms of Bowie, Arnold and Bustos in this chapter. Bowie, Arnold and Bustos talked about several important about environment sustainability in this chapter. Bowie talked about that business has obligation to obey the law but has no special obligation to protect environment. More specially, the business do not against the legislation and has responsibility to educate the customer. On the other hand, the Arnold and Bustos’s opinions related to the main topic of environment sustainability through the global climate change. According to Arnold and Bustos’s opinions, it obviously that the greenhouse gas will release more than nowadays and the demand of energy will increase. In my opinion, I think that the business has obligation to protect environment and make it achieve a balance among the environment sustainability,social sustainability, and economic sustainability. In addition, the government also need to have an overall consideration and weigh comprehensively to protect environment by create legislation.

Furthermore, we will talk about the topic of business ethic in international business in following class.
