* The Geography of Sumer and Egypt
The Sumer geography of this civilization was the first civilization on earth. It emerged in the Mesopotamia region. Mesopotamia which means the land between the rivers in Greek refers to the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in modern day Iraq. They had larger urban units along the Tigris and Euphrates rivers around 4000 B.C.E. The Mesopotamian valley was much opened which enabled invaders, and it was impossible to establish kingdoms for a long period of time.
The Egypt geography of this civilization was stimulated by the success of the food crops of the Mesopotamia. The Nile River was the source of the Egyptians establishing there settlement. Egypt was more isolated than the ancient civilizations to the northeast. They developed without any invaders because of the Nile.
* Disparity in Resources of Sumer and Egypt
Now the resources of the Sumerians were very few in the natural resources, but the most important resource for the Sumerians was clay. The Sumerians accumulated most of their resources through trades. The Sumerians had invented the wheel to move cartloads of resources. The Sumerians did produce some resources but was very few because the rivers were unpredictable when it floods.
The Egyptians was a lot of different from the Sumerians because the Nile River was very predictable and they produced a lot of corps. The Egyptians planted along the Nile River by using their cattle to stomp crops into the ground. The flood also developed a layer of fertile black earth that allowed them to plant cereal crops in the winter. Egypt had also had access to mineral resources, most importantly copper, which was used for tools.
* Differing Views of the Afterlife and their Gods
The Sumerians had no afterlife and no happy one either. They believed that at death the soul descended into a netherworld where they were nourished by dust and clay. The Sumerians...
