Essay on the topic Christology

I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe he was a man that changed the world when he walked upon this earth for a brief time. He was very direct with his message of salvation and challenged the status quo of that time period. He came from humble parents, had a Jewish lineage, but claimed to be the Son of God. This statement seems harmless to this generation, but to the Jews of that time, it was blasphemous. Jesus left a message of hope, salvation, but he also left questions.

Jesus was a human being. He was hungry, thirsty, tired, disappointed, angry, sad. Mark 14:33. And Luke 4:1-13. His deity is because he was born of a virgin. This is referred to as the immaculate conception. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Matthew 1:18

The term hypostatic union attempts to explain how Jesus can be both Man and God at the same time. It states the Jesus existed with God and he has always existed (John 8:58, 10:30). He became God’s son when he was conceived by the Holy Spirit. When Jesus was conceived, he became a human being in addition to being God (John 1:1, 14).When he took on human nature, he still had his divine nature.
