III. Significance Of the Study

The study of the Factors that influence San Bartolome High School students to smoke. This is but a small contribution with the participation of the said students that not only basic education be learned by today’s students but also the importance of gainful knowledge about the: effects, risk, responsibility of using tobacco products not only short term but also in long term. This study may help students improve academic competence, since the numbers of tobacco addiction in their age is very alarming and the results are getting worst. From failed grades to even the extent of being a young parent. The study may also help and improve implement a stronger rules on the school premises. With this being part of our goal, we are aiming that the students be able to decide a career plan and participate in a career pathway in preparation for post secondary education or careers after graduating from high school. The output of this study can be a source material that the teachers can assimilate and introduce a new and perhaps friendly to the students to follow and observe the prohibition or control of tobacco products at their age.
