Briefly describe the demonstrated work of the coach in each of the listed areas of responsibilities as determined by your personal observation: how does the coach you observe go about each of these areas?

A. Team selection.

At practice what I notice is that both captains spilt the vets and the rookies into two groups. From there they usually work more hands on with the rookies since their still learning the sport. Vets also get split up into forwards or wingers. Both groups continue on with their regular routine as the rookies are more focused on learning drills and applying them to the game along with practice. Within the practice, the vets and rookies combine into one whole group and apply everything they learned that day into the hour practice they have for the day.

B. Practice planning (clear daily, weekly, and seasonal objectives).

Practice usually runs with a 10 minute warm up that contains the girls to run two laps around the turf. From there they do a 2 minute stretch with the girls in a circle. After their stretch they go with their fitness instructor who makes them run sprints for a half an hour. After that is over the girls get a 45 second break to drink water and to collect themselves. They immediately get assigned drills for the day whether it’s rucking, tackling (contact), passing, weaving, and defense/ offense. After that is over, the girls apply those drills and skills into a 40 minute scrimmage. Once the girls play there mini game, the fitness instructor comes back again to do a “cool off” where they run sprint and jog two laps around the turf. These practices are weekly and daily. Seasonal objectives are only applied on Friday’s when the girls play there mini games of “no contact”...
